Language Arts Integration (K–5 programs)

TCI improves students’ literacy skills by teaching reading and writing skills with social studies. Each Social Studies Alive! chapter includes language arts objectives and suggestions for vocabulary development, reading strategies, writing, listening, and speaking, along with social studies instruction.

In recent years, many elementary teachers have found it hard to find time for social studies. With greater emphasis on reading instruction, writing, and math, there seems to be less time to fit in any history, geography, civics, or economics.
