In 2008, the Virginia Standards of Learning were revised to reflect the changing needs of social studies education. To bring curriculum into alignment with these new standards, the Virginia Department of Education will begin reviewing materials for the 2009/2010 textbook adoption this summer. TCI is proud to be a part of this process, submitting five curricular programs for review.

All programs will be reviewed by a committee that includes teachers, administrators, and others interested in brining suitable programs to Virginia’s public schools.

For years TCI has been working with school districts throughout Virginia to create dynamic, hands-on lesson using a combination of professional development and supplementary materials. In 2010, we hope to bring the TCI Approach to more schools in Virginia as an adopted curricular program.
